Hello!
My name is Logan Alexander Northcutt and I am a freshman Physics major from Hoffman, North Carolina. I was born on August 5, 1996 in Rockingham, North Carolina and lived in Hoffman, North Carolina with my mother, father, and two sisters. As I was growing up, I was involved in activities such as recreational sports and Cub Scouts from kindergarten to third grade. I also attended church at Sneed Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Ellerbe, North Carolina.
In the fall of 2010, I attended Richmond County Ninth Grade Academy in Hamlet, North Carolina and then Richmond Senior High School (RSHS) in the fall of 2011. Playing football for my high school was a great experience life and plays a huge part in how I conduct myself today. I was an All-Conference Offensive Lineman and Scholar Athlete. Football was a major part of life; but academics, community service, leadership and mentoring youth was an even bigger part of who I am. I was a Morehead-Cain and Parks Scholarship nominee and a Questbridge Scholar. I served as Vice President of the RSHS Beta Club and represented North Carolina at the National Beta Club Convention in Richmond, Virginia in the Creative Writing competition. I was also a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government, Technology Student Association and graduated Magna Cum Laude of my high school class.
Outside of academia, I am involved in several organizations as well. I was a 4-H teen volunteer and and a member of the Rockingham First Presbyterian Youth Group. Most notably, I am a member of the Boy Scouts of America. In 2011, I was inducted as a member of the Order of the Arrow where I am a Brotherhood member and in July of 2013, I attended the National Boy Scout Jamboree in West Virginia where I served as a trek guide. On May 4th, 2014, I received the rank of Eagle Scout.
In my spare time I enjoy writing poetry and reading. I firmly believe that reaching out to others is very important, because so many people have reached out to help me. I hope that this website will be informative and insightful to you!
